Part I — The Skin Layer

Laminates, the skin.

Plywood is the bone, HDHMR the muscle — laminate is the skin everybody actually sees.

From a 0.8mm wardrobe shutter to a 1.25mm restaurant counter, from matte fingerprint-hider to mirror-grade acrylic — the laminate decides whether your furniture looks expensive or apologises for itself. We stock seven trusted brands and the full finish library.

Part II — Thickness

0.8, 1, 1.25 — the order of seriousness.

Vertical surface vs horizontal surface — that's almost the whole decision. The thicker the laminate, the more abuse it takes, the longer it lasts.

Thin · 0.8 mm
Economy
For vertical surfaces only. Wardrobe shutters, side panels, drawer fronts — places where it won't get dragged or chopped on.
Best for: Wardrobe ●○○
Standard · 1 mm
All-round
Both vertical and horizontal. The default for kitchen shutters, table tops in a home, and anywhere a 0.8mm would feel cheap.
Best for: Kitchen · Table ●●○
Heavy · 1.25 mm
Premium
Restaurant counters, public-facing reception desks, retail tops — anywhere a knife, key, or coffee mug will land daily.
Best for: Heavy duty ●●●
Part III — Finishes

Eight families, thousands of designs.

Each "finish" is really a family — gloss alone has Super High Gloss, regular Gloss, and semi-gloss. Below: the eight finish families we stock across all seven brands.

Gloss

Reflects light, looks expensive. Shows fingerprints. Use in kitchens that get cleaned daily.

Mirror · SHG

Matt

Hides fingerprints, hides scratches, ages well. The new default for wardrobes and bedrooms.

Soft matte

Suede

A barely-there velvet feel. Premium, expensive, surprisingly tactile. Pairs well with fabric-laminated HDHMR.

Tactile

Texture

3D wood-grain feel that mimics natural timber. The cheap path to a "real wood" look without the price.

Wood grain

Sparkle

Subtle metallic flecks suspended in the surface. Shows under spot lights. Common in modern wardrobes.

Metallic

Mirror / SHG

Super High Gloss — the brightest, shiniest finish that exists in laminate. Photographs beautifully, fingerprints constantly.

SHG

Acrylic

Glass-like clarity, deeper colour saturation than gloss. The closest you get to lacquered furniture without the lacquer.

Premium

UV Marble

Photorealistic marble printed on the laminate. Counters and wall panels that look like Italian stone, at a fraction of the price.

Part V — Veneers

Real wood, 0.5mm thin.

Veneer isn't laminate. It's a real slice of timber bonded to a substrate — teak, oak, walnut, exotic species. Needs polish, ages beautifully.

Species 01
Teak
The Indian classic. Warm gold tone, straight grain, ages to a darker honey. Standard for traditional drawing-room furniture.
Heritage finish ●●●
Species 02
Oak
Light, grain-prominent, distinctly Western. Pairs with matt-black metal hardware for the modern look.
Modern finish ●●○
Species 03
Walnut
Dark, rich, heavily grained. Statement pieces — entrance doors, study desks, accent walls.

Part VII — Questions

Asked by every interior designer.

0.8mm laminates are economical and suitable for vertical surfaces like wardrobe shutters. 1mm laminates are more durable, scratch-resistant, and recommended for horizontal surfaces like table tops and counters. We also stock 1.25mm premium laminates for heavy-duty applications.

We stock multiple premium laminate brands. We stock complete ranges of 0.8mm and 1mm laminates in all finishes — high gloss, matte, suede, texture, and designer patterns.

MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) has a smoother surface ideal for painting and laminating, but is heavier and less water-resistant than plywood. Plywood has better structural strength and moisture resistance.

Yes, we deliver across Delhi NCR including Vishnu Garden, Rajouri Garden, Tilak Nagar, Janakpuri, Dwarka, and all surrounding areas. Contact us for delivery charges and minimum order requirements.

What goes under the skin.

Laminate is the visible part — it bonds to a board. Three boards we recommend.
